It was almost 4 years ago when I was a very"smart" mom and took away...
THE BINKY
Lucas then was 10 months, still a baby
Well something cute happened
He started sucking his thumb
I thought how sweet and cute!
I let him continue to suck his thumb....
4 years go by....still doing it.
Then tragedy happened..
He was playing under the shopping cart
Placed his hand down and I ended up running over his thumb
It caused it to rip the skin off (ouch)
which with that he needed a Band Aid
2 Weeks of wearing said bandage and *POOF*
NO MORE THUMB SUCKING
NO MORE THUMB SUCKING
So? Injured thumb Tragedy or Blessing?

Aww poor guy! But how easy was that? I wished my weaning was going to be so simple :)

That rocks, its wonderful how things work out sometimes.
BLESSING! I am embarrassed to admit this, but I sucked my thumb until I was 15. I mostly did it to help me fall asleep at that age, but it was a very hard habit to break. I sore I'd never let my kids do it and so far, they haven't even tried... thank goodness! I think it's great he broke the habit! Not only for age reasons, but because of teeth reasons too... because the braces I suffered through were horrible also!
